Blue Plaque for the Birthplace of Rhythm 'n' Blues in Belfast - 17 April 2010

For a brief period, the music returned to the Maritime Hotel, in spirit if not in reality, as the Belfast Blues Society celebrated the recognition of the seminal place the long-gone building held in fostering the talent and the music of 1960s Belfast. Rab Braniff and Billy Harrison were in rousing form as they described the impact of the place on their youth and musical development.
